Qualifications

What are we looking for?One year of experience in fitness instruction in a group setting is preferred.Certification in group exercise is required from an accredited organization American Council on Exercise (ACE), Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA), and American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).Training and education in work place wellness and/or lifestyle behaviors. Holds 1 or more "specialty" certifications such as NCCPT Indoor Cycling, Strength & Conditioning, TRX, Kettlebell, Yoga Alliance, Barre, Pilates Method Alliance is preferred.  Holds a nationally accredited personal training certification recognized by Headquarters Marine Corps, such as ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NSCA is preferred. CPR and First Aid certification is required, or ability to acquire CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of employment.Ability to develop, modify, and implement fitness classes in two or more training modalities is required (e.g., basic strength training, choreographed strength training, kickboxing, suspension training, circuit training, dance, yoga, cycle, muscle recovery, aquatic exercise, and myofascial release).Ability to teach indoor and outdoor classes.
