You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES (N30) of COMMANDER - NAVAL INSTALLATIONS.

Duties

You will plan, develop, and evaluate vital Fire and Emergency Services programs to evaluate operation and training programs. You will review and provide technical comments on apparatus specifications and fire prevention policy for compliance with applicable NFPA standards. You will develop and recommend shipboard firefighting criteria and implement direction for shipboard fire suppression. You will develop and recommend airfield rescue firefighting criteria and implementing direction for aircraft fire suppression.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in the development of policies, plans, standards, procedures for a fire department; 2) Assisting with planning fire protection and prevention programs; 3) Making recommendations for setting priorities, goals, and/or objectives to ensure a specific course of action implemented to achieve a specific outcome; 4) Preparing criteria to assist in developing pre-incident plans for diverse operations and facilities. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position. ***This position requires the incumbent to possess and provide the following certifications: Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector II, and Fire Instructor II. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
