You will serve as a RECREATION ASSISTANT in the 36 Force Support of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY ANDERSEN GUAM.
Duties
You will provide base fitness and sports director in running the base fitness and sport programs and facilities.
You will contribute to readiness and improve productivity through programs promoting fitness, sports, esprit de corps, and quality of life for authorized customers.
You will monitor and help facilitate and coordinate the use of indoor and outdoor facilities including gymnasium, weight room, cardiovascular fitness rooms, tennis courts, and other outdoor activities.
You will assist and organize efforts effectively achieve installation fitness and sports needs and are complied with through established procedures, guidance and regulations.
You will help ensure schedule of sports and fitness programs are offered and maintained.
You will assist in conducting weekly, quarterly, and annual sports events.
You will help ensure program assigned meet the needs of the staff and customers adequately and effectively.
You will be responsible for maintaining the general upkeep of the fitness facility and grounds, which include parking lots, ball fields, pavilions, and a running track.
You will assist customers at the customer service counter in the fitness center.

- This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.

- May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Work is subject to uncommon tour of duty to meet program requirements including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Work may require physical dexterity and ability, heavy physical exertion (lifting up to 75 pounds), and exposure to hazardous materials.
- Must complete all mandatory training IAW DAFI 34-114, Fitness, Sports, and World Class Athlete Program.
- Work requires physical activity such as standing, walking, and bending when conducting clinics for sports, weight lifting, and aerobic exercise.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing group fitness instruction and organizing sporting events; 2) Promoting participation in fitness activities and proper exercise techniques (e.g. resistance, and free weight equipment) to have a positive impact on overall health; 3) Knowledge of equipment, and facilities management, safety, fire, and environmental procedures

Education

Successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours in courses related to recreation or physical education.

A combination of experience and post high school education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
