The primary purpose of this position is to USAF Academy, CO, 10th Mission Support Group; Cadet Subsistence; Food Services.
Duties
Performs first level supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Performs duties of a Waiter.
Operates, maintains, and cleans tools, equipment, and work area.
Performs stockroom attendant duties or other related duties.
Observes and adheres to safety and sanitation rules and regulations while on duty.

- Will be required to attend all mandatory training and meetings
- Occasionally performs second level supervisory duties in the absence of the supervisor in an emergency or other short-term time frame
- If these duties are performed for more than 30 calendar days, detail/temporary promotion will be documented appropriately
- Employee may be detailed to other areas, and or duties as mission requires. If detailed to a position that requires licensure, must have or be able to obtain required license(s)
- Supervises the following personnel: 1 Waiter Leader WL-7420-3, 22-25 Waiter WG-7420-03
- This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
- IAW, DoDI 3020-42, Defense Continuity Programs. Leave accrual may be authorized upon request

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-7400 Food Preparation And Serving Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is ability to do the work of a WG-7402 WAITER SUPERVISOR without more than normal supervision.
JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Ability to meet the public and tactfully explain/enforce the rules governing cadet guests at meal formations. Ability to supervise and direct personnel in a common goal.
2. Knowledge of basic nutritional standards to include answering cadet dietary questions pertaining to meals being served. Knowledge of types of food and quantity to be served to cadets on modified diets such as weight gain or loss, EXCEL, soft diet, etc. Knowledge of various types of dining service to include family style, formal buffet, and formal dining plate service.
3. Basic knowledge of health, food service safety, and sanitation procedures and housekeeping practices.
4. Skill in doing tasks with several steps using judgement in a sequence of tasks. Skill in operating, breaking down, and cleaning waiter and sanitation equipment.
5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing using tact and diplomacy in include reading and understanding signs, names of food items, and instructions.
6. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
