THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2663000 and is part of the IL 108, National Guard.

Duties

As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), GS-2005-5/6/7, you will function as the primary unit Supply NCO and assistant to the senior food service full-time member of the assigned geographical region. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Receive all Food Service support requests and coordinates with Full-Time unit staff to prioritize missions. Ensure sufficient assets are allocated and available to support the requested headcount. Review feeding requests submitted by supported units and determines appropriate resources and supplies required to support the mission. Conduct mission analysis on submitted feeding requests assigning priorities with approval by the Field Feeding Platoon Leader in order to ensure adequate manning support for each inactive duty training and annual training period. Assist in the development of the Field Feeding Platoon logistics policies. Process all required forms, consolidates and inputs unit level logistics feeder information into the organizational readiness report. Prepare logistic plans for scheduled training and deployments. Monitor high priority requisitions. Coordinate the receipt, inventory, and issue of new equipment fielded to the Field Feeding Platoon. Initiate and/or forward convoy requests, movement plans, and transportation requests to move equipment and personnel. Prepare reports and schedule repair or maintenance of unit assigned equipment. Maintain pertinent regulations, policies and precedents which effect the use of the field feeding platoons and related services (people, money, equipment).

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades: Enlisted only - Not to exceed the Rank of E6 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered; knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions; experience using computer and automation systems. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-7 Level MUST possess at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade: knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment; experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts; experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management; experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.; experience controlling supply stocks and accounting for equipment, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures; completing complex supply transactions; and/or providing supply operations support; experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues; experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc.; knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system; experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. GS-6 Level MUST possess at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade: knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment; experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts; experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management; experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. GS 5 Level MUST possess at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade: demonstrated knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned; experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more automated supply databases to enter and retrieve recurring reports; experience using working knowledge of the structure of a supply organization and the organizations serviced. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
