You will serve as an INSPECTOR INVESTIGATOR in the Office of Inspector General (OIG) of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.

Duties

You will perform assigned inspections by assessing compliance with regulatory guidance, economic and effective use of resources, programmatic performance, functional risk, and internal controls. You will serve as an IG Inspector SME and meet with Command personnel to communicate, justify, and defend all findings, recommendations, and other deliverables. You will prepare reports for submission to Command leadership and leadership officials, which detail the nature, timing, extent, and results of the inspection, data obtained, and source(s), including evidence that supports findings and conclusions. You will develop pre-inspection work plans that define scope, identify relevant criteria, and provide the methodology used.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

(DA-05): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11/12) or pay band (DA-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Performing Inspector General Inquiries/Inspections, writing clear and concise reports, and demonstrated ability to orally brief Command Leadership and Senior Officials; 2) Working with multiple and/or changing stakeholders, partners, financial and personnel systems, contracting laws, business thrusts and program directions; 3) Verifying that Command resources are used properly and prudently; 4) Identifying causes of inefficiencies and uneconomical practices and developing appropriate and effective recommendations for improvements; 5) Communicating results to a variety of stakeholders, tracking corrective actions to completion, and determining whether financial statements and related reports fairly present the financial position and results of financial operations. (DA-04): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9/10) or pay band (DA-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; 2) Communicating information both orally and in writing in order to provide information to stakeholders; 3) Planning and organizing work; 4) Detecting issues that impact organization's ability to accomplish mission and recommending remedies.
