As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as a front line Supervisory Airway Transportation Systems Specialist (SATSS), for a Systems Support Center (SSC).

Duties

As the Supervisor of a Technical Operations, System Support Center (SSC), the employee has responsibility for administrative and technical direction of the assigned staff consisting of specialist, technicians, and other FAA support staff involved in the maintenance of the NAS. Applies knowledge of and experience with the interrelationships of (1) FAA and Technical Operations organizational components and their functions and operations, (2) FAA and Technical Operations priorities, plans, procedures and policies, and (3) National Air Space (NAS) components, systems and organizations.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
  • A valid state driver's license is required.
  • A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: Candidates must show experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility that is appropriate to the position. Specialized Experience is experience should demonstrates an extensive knowledge of and experience in technology system interrelationships, and management of civilian or military automated aviation, navigation, and electronics systems. To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess one year specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 level.Eligible applicants meeting the minimum qualification requirements and selective factor(s), if applicable, may be further evaluated on the Leadership and Management Dimensions and Technical Requirements listed in the announcement. Based on this evaluation, applicants will be placed in one of the following categories: score order, category grouping, or alphabetical and referred to the selecting official for consideration.Some, all or none of the applicants may be interviewed.This is not a bargaining unit position.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
