Duties
The candidate will serve as an event planner in NIST Public Affairs Office (PAO) in Boulder, CO. The candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing NIST conferences and special events. The candidate will independently lead pre-event meetings to obtain event requirements, provide guidance, and develop event budgets. The candidate will independently create and manage online registration sites, webpages and applications; coordinate audio-visual services, food and beverage functions, meeting room setups, and hotel room blocks. The candidate will be responsible for managing the collection, preservation, and public display of NIST Boulder's historic artifacts, photographs, and records.. The candidate will interpret wants to event requirements, budget, major milestones, and their related tasks.

Qualifications
IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION, ALL APPLICANTS MUST POSSESS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
One year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 (ZA-I at NIST) level.Specialized experience is defined as: experience coordinating events, such as booking meeting room space, coordinating AV services and food and beverage services requests. The candidate must have working knowledge of technologies that support events (webpages, online registration systems, conference apps and virtual meeting platforms) with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues, manage timelines for multiple events and projects simultaneously, collaborate with other team members to address client needs, maintain client and customer satisfaction by responding to requests in a timely manner and resolving issues, make recommendations in processes and operations, maintain strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

Two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree

An equivalent combination of specialized experience and progressively higher-level graduate education.
