This position is located in DHS/U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater within the Aviation Engineering (AVENG) Department, Clearwater, Florida.

Duties

This primary purpose of the position is to maintain, repair, and overhaul combustion powered automotive vehicles, gasoline and diesel engines and other mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronically controlled systems to include Aviation Ground Support Equipment (AGSE), over-the-road trucks and comparable vehicles such as passenger cars, pickup trucks, buses, semitrailer truck tractors, warehouse tractors, farm tractors, forklifts, motorcycle, light combat vehicles such as jeeps and trucks and other vehicles with similar characteristics.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • The position requires a valid state driver's license.
  • This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • This position requires travel.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Applicant is required to meet the physical requirements of the position.

NORMAL SUPERVISION (SCREEN OUT ELEMENT) KNOWLEDGE OF EQUIPMENT ASSEMBLY, INSTALL TECHNICAL PRACTICES ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT TROUBLE SHOOTING USE OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
