You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Capital Improvements Business Line of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will serve as the Senior Engineering Technician and is a central point of contact within the CIBL Construction Product Line on all technical issues involving quality and safety on construction projects. You will assist the Field Engineering Technicians and the FEAD/ROICC by initiating and promulgating technical training programs and procedures and providing feedback on technical issues within the team. You will provide reach back support on construction quality and safety issues and assists in the management and execution of testing and acceptance of critical facility systems.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as the Senior Engineering Technician and central point of contact for a construction product line on all technical issues involving quality and safety on construction projects. 2) Assisting the field engineering technicians by initiating and promulgating technical training programs and procedures and providing feedback on technical issues within the team. 3) Providing technical advice and training to the team in/on matters of construction management, quality assurance, testing of critical systems, and safety.
