You will serve as a SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR in the SUSTAINMENT GROUP, LOGISTICS & MAINT & TECHNOLOGY DIVISION, PRODUCTION SUPPORT BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will perform regular database security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
You will evaluate and install new database versions and tools, including any other tools that access those databases.
You will control migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes, and menu changes through the development life cycle.
You will assist with impact analysis of all changes made to the database objects.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 421, proficiency level Basic, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DS-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Creating and maintaining databases required for development, test, and production usage; 2) Putting standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security, and performance; 3) Implementing, enforcing, and monitoring security for database technologies; 4) Performing database re-organization, tuning, and optimization of database instances; 5) Providing technical support to application development teams regarding security and optimization for SQL scripts and stored procedures. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
or
3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
