This position is located in the Office of the Administration, Executive Office for Immigration Review, U. S. Department of Justice. Incumbent serves as Space Management Specialist. This is a Competitive Service position; additional positions may be filled from this announcement within 90 days of certificate issuance.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for the planning, development, and Implementation of real estate projects in accordance with U.S General Services Administration (GSA), the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and EOIR space acquisition, management and administration policies, standards and procedures. Responsible for the management of all aspects of EOIR Headquarters and field location real estate projects which include acquisitions, design, construction, renovation, administration. Recommend changes and modifications to maintain the overall concept and integrity of real estate space management projects. Use computer-aided design software applications such as AutoCAD to develop space plans, design intent drawings, and renovation specifications to plan, construct, and renovate space. Monitors fund availability to accommodate renovations or other real estate improvements for the appropriate budget years. Manages the relationship and all meetings with GSA and other real estate service providers and evaluates prospective blocks of space for suitability with EOIR real estate requirements. Keeps managers continuously apprised of real estate project status, schedule, and fund status.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for the Space Management Specialist position, you must meet the following time in grade requirements and minimum qualifications: TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. (Please submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. If your eligibility for both merit promotion and/or time-in-grade cannot be determined, your application will be rated ineligible. Please see Required Documents for additional information). Time-in-grade requirements also apply to VEOA applicants having held a GS position in the past year. FOR THE GS-13 LEVEL: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties: Management of all aspects of real estate projects to include acquisition, design, construction, renovation, and administration. Developing, and reviewing real estate space layouts using computer aided design software (such as AutoCAD) to ensure functional real estate requirements and design criteria are met; Oversee construction projects to verify completion and ensure that the project schedule and budget are met. Recommend changes and modifications to real estate projects as appropriate. Monitor fund availability to ensure new real estate acquisitions, renovations, or other real estate improvement are within budget. Communicating with various levels of management regarding real estate project schedule, status, and funding. Conducting real estate project meetings with various service providers and stakeholders.
