Duties
Provide advice and guidance covering the full range of functions for the Defense Travel System (DTS) and the government travel charge card (GTCC).
Conduct special studies relative to the development or modification of policies, procedures, and regulations involving military pay entitlements and per diem, travel/transportation allowances for USAFMCOM members.
Serves as the primary Defense Travel Administrator (DTA) and reviewing official (RO) for the command for CONUS and OCONUS travel.
Review travel documents to verify compliance and provide advice and guidance on the interpretation of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Creates a monthly report to track unsubmitted DTS vouchers; monitors ongoing results to produce a trend analysis; and develops recommendations for improving timeliness of voucher submission.
Initiates, analyzes, researches, formulates, coordinates, and prescribes per diem, travel entitlements, and certain travel administrative policies in the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
Prepares detailed reports and summary evaluations enumerating the overall efficiency, effectiveness, economy and command readiness of DTS, GTCC and military pay programs.
Requirements

- Department of the Army DA Civilians must successfully complete all mandatory Civilian Education System CES courses which may require travel.
- Obtain/Maintain Financial Management Certification.
Qualifications
Time in Grade:
For entry at the GS-12 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in initiating, analyzing, researching, formulating, coordinating, and prescribing per diem, travel entitlements, and certain travel administrative policies in the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and prepares detailed reports and summary evaluations enumerating the overall efficiency, effectiveness, economy and command readiness of Defense Travel System (DTS), Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) and military pay programs.
