About the Position: This position is located at the Directorate of Industrial Operations, RCV & Power Generation Division, Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

Duties

Use a variety of technical information resources to support system modifications. Use specialized testing equipment for inspection of functionality to unit. Determine if equipment is functioning in conjunction with required system specifications. Plan work in proper sequence with organization's procedures. Troubleshoot repair needed to generator or comparable system.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be willing to undergo pre-employment and annual physical examinations.
  • Must be willing to travel (TDY) up to 20% of the time.

Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Knowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Trouble Shooting Physical Effort Work involves frequent bending, reaching, crouching, standing and climbing over and around equipment. Sometimes work is in cramped areas where awkward positions are assumed during performance. There is frequent lifting of items weighing up to 40 pounds. Heavier items are moved with assistance of others or by materials handling equipment. Working Conditions Work is performed inside or outside. Inside areas are usually well lighted and heated, however, they are subject to drafts and changing temperatures. Outside work may require occasional exposure to inclement weather. There is frequent exposure to loud noise, dust, fumes, grease, dirt, and hard surfaced floors. There is possibility of cuts, burns, bruises, strains, electrical shock, and broken bones from falls. Incumbents may be required to wear various protective and safety devices or clothing which may be uncomfortable.
