About the position: This position will be assigned to the Aero Club at Kirtland AFB, NM.
Position will be filled as Flexible employment category (guarantees 00 hrs/wk).
Flexible employment category has 00 guaranteed hours but may work up to 40 hours per week.
Knowledge of Veteran Administration (VA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Air Force administrative regulations is desired, but not required.
Duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Aero Club Manager with a variety of routine clerical, administrative and cash handling duties.
Uses word processing software and a variety of systems to produce a variety of documents, including typing correspondence, reports, and other materials from rough draft, clean or corrected copy, including statistical and financial data.
Composes correspondence from brief verbal or written instructions of the supervisor.
Responsible for correct spelling, paragraphing, grammar, format, etc.
Performs a variety of general office duties such as receiving telephone calls and visitors, routing and filing correspondence, and maintaining files.
Makes deposits to the Central Cashier and prepares daily financial documentation/reports and forwards to the NAF Accounting Office for final processing.
Keeps correspondence and financial files; prepares end of month paperwork for payment of vendors.
Assists with end of month inventories.
Processes paperwork, invoices for corporate accounts and all flight instructors, and completes required paperwork for processing payments.
Maintains safety and operations binders, continuity book, self-inspection checklists, safety binder, resource protection binder, and training books.
Creates and maintains a file plan and filing system in accordance with established procedures.
Assists manager with tracking training and certification requirements.
Ensures all documentation is on file and in order for FAA visits and inspections.
Maintains membership records, assists with preparing documents for safety meetings and minutes of meetings.
Maintains aero club official bulletin boards, tracks flights and maintenance hours, and prepares purchase orders for parts and maintenance requirements.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 (T1) background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- This position requires the incumbent to be subject to random testing for drug use. This is a drug testing designated position.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience in clerical and office work of any kind which demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of this position is required.
Requires knowledge of computer systems used for basic entry and retrieval operations is required, including proficient computer skills and demonstrated experience with Excel and Word.
Ability to operate a calculator and other routine office equipment.
Knowledge of Veteran Administration (VA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Air Force administrative regulations is desired, but not required.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
