About the Position: This position is located in Ft. Novosel, Alabama. Ft. Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Duties

Reviews and classifies training objectives. Revises and updates technical data in training materials and design of the training product to provide maximum training effectiveness. Selects training sequences, ensures technical accuracy of the actions, conditions of training objectives. Keeps abreast of the latest technical and doctrinal changes in subject matter(s) and assures inclusion into appropriate training programs. Reviews, coordinates training actions to ensure compliance with the systems approach to training process. Instructs technical specialty knowledge of Aircraft Pnuedraulic System Repair. Trains students on life support equipment repair, inspection and supply procedures. Monitors classroom presentations to insure consistency with training objectives. Plans, distributes, and monitors work assignments; evaluates work performance and provide feedback to others on their performance. Monitors special projects related to training and education matters. Ensures that staff are appropriately selected, utilized, and developed, and that they are treated in a fair and equitable manner. Recommends improvements to courses both orally and in written format. Reviews and evaluates new audiovisual aids that affect program of instruction for 15H advanced individual training. Coordinates and monitors required actions in the annual review of the critical task list, development and rewrite of examinations. Coordinates and participates in development of course management procedures to ensure proper relationships and participation of operational and training elements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
  • Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain Instructor training certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Incumbent is required to recertify every 5 years.

Aviation Life Support Equipment Certification, - Foundation Instructor Facilitator Certification, - Foundation Training Developer Certification, - Test Construction Certification, - Training Developer Certification the position to be filled. OR Experience: Specialized Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction - Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes: 1) Demonstrating a practical knowledge of developing Programs of Instructions (POI), lesson plans, and course materials for school and student's use in Aviation Life Support Equipment AND 2) knowledge of ALSE Operations and Systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Aviation Science and Aeronautics. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Curriculum DevelopmentFlight SystemsLearning and Program EvaluationTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
