You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the AIRFIELD OPS BRANCH of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.

Duties

You will maintain and repair several types of complex electronics systems and is typically charged with in-depth responsibility for one or more highly complex systems. You will Functions as Lead Technician for the maintenance crew to which assigned, overseeing maintenance and maintenance related activities. You will function as the Subject Matter Expert (SME). You will investigate, test, analyze, diagnose, align and tune highly complex electronics systems. You will Performs a few duties on other types of moderately to highly complex electronic equipment, which is of itself not part of the National Airspace System. You will knowledge of air traffic control and air traffic control equipment such as air surveillance radar, precision approach radar, TACAN, NOB (Non-System), UHF and VHF communications transmitters and receivers and meteorological equipment. You will have Ability to read and correctly interpret blueprints, schematic diagrams, specifications, wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals and instructions, engineering instructions, technical orders and other required directives. You will ability and skill to test, align, and calibrate the mentioned equipment utilizing electronic parameters.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position requires rotating shift work.
  • Per OPNAVINST 5100.23, you will be required to obtain and maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification and to administer CPR when necessary.
  • You will be required to obtain SME certification within one year of employment.
  • Must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 30 pounds in weight.
  • Must have good sight and full color vision to read technical schematics and to complete multi level circuit card and color coded component repair.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
