About the Position: Fort Drum is located in Northern New York, a historically unique and geographically beautiful area. Fort Drum is approximately 30 miles from Canada, with the Great Lakes to the west, Adirondack Mountains to the east, and St. Lawrence River and Thousand Islands in between, offering ample outdoor activities year-round.
Duties
Prioritize, schedule and expedite trade and crafts work engaged in maintenance, repair and construction operations throughout Fort Drum.
Analyze production processes and methods to determine optimum work flow and most efficient manpower utilization.
Schedule work for various shops to perform preventative maintenance, operating work orders and service orders.
Resolves problems in scheduling and/or changed priorities in manpower issues.
Review and evaluate incoming work request to determine priority methodology and effectiveness.
Provide status to customers on status of work request orders.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- TDY 5% may be required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience GS-08: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes assisting with work order requests; acquire supplies for needed to complete work orders; and communicate with customers about their work order requests.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service which includes assisting with the review of work order requests for accuracy; coordinating with supply for materials needed to complete work orders; and advising customers on the status of work requests.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
Specialized Experience GS-10: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes reviewing work order request for accuracy; assisting in estimating requirements and manpower for maintenance and repair work orders; and establishing plans and/or schedules for maintenance and repair for an organization.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 grade level in the Federal service which includes Monitoring the repair of products and projects using the process of production methods; analyzing production operations to determine if schedules are being followed; scheduling production work orders and estimating completion time for work priorities.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).
