The incumbent serves as a senior Integrated Technology (IT) Specialist within the Unified Communication and Collaboration Services (UCC), with responsibility for providing administrative and technical leadership within the staff of IT specialists and network engineering working on complex tasks directly associated with delivering unified communications and collaboration security services to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) community.
Duties
Develops and evaluates models for security solutions for unified communications and collaboration services.
Serves as a subject matter expert and resource manager for projects involving security service delivery for unified communications and collaboration services.
Provides technical management, guidance, advice, and support for specialized design and management of unified communications and collaboration systems required to meet customer's unique requirements.
Manages or oversees projects for the design, development, and support of unified communications and collaboration services.
Manages the initiation, planning, and coordination of projects, and project activities.
Utilizes business management skills to manage, carry out, and oversee resource management activities, including procurement, contracting, financial resources, administering invoices, receiving and responding to quotes for systems or services.
Makes determinations on alternate methods of communicating system changes to improve effectiveness and awareness of changes among users.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for an Information Technology Specialist, GS-2210 position you must have IT related experience demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience obtained in either the private or public sector, and/or completion of specific, intensive training that demonstrates all of the following four competencies:
1. Attention to Detail - is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail; and
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services; and
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; and
4. Problem Solving - identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In order to qualify for an Information Technology Specialist, GS-2210 position at the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector typically gained in the IT field or through performing IT related tasks such as: managing projects for design, development, and support of unified communication and collaboration services; managing resources for IT programs and services; providing technical guidance and expertise to management and technical staff; and providing information on unified communication and collaboration services to users and other audiences.
