About the position: This position will be assigned to the LAKE TEXOMA ANNEX.

Duties

Assists the Outdoor Recreation Director in the day to day operations of the Sheppard Recreation Annex. The site consists of 580 acres and over 60 facilities. Plans, implements, and evaluates Annex recreational programs and guest services. Assists with managing guest lodging, Snack Bar operations, Marina, Resale Store, Recreational Vehicle Park, Primitive Tent Camping, Rental and Recreation programs. Works with the ODR Annex Director developing annual programming and financial plans, NAF and APF budgets. Ensures all administrative and cash procedures are followed, and all resale including food, beverage and other resale are properly controlled and priced to meet Air Force standards and budget projections. Keep abreast of Air Force software systems such as NAFRIS, Rec/WebTrac, IBPS, SETS and inventory reports. In the absence of the Director, serves as first line supervisor. May assist the Annex Director with midyear feedback sessions and annual appraisals for subordinate staff members. Ensures compliance for necessary training of all employees, and monitors, enforces, and documents required ongoing training. Helps provide a safe, solid, and positive working relationship with the staff, addressing employee issues quickly and properly. Recommends to the Annex Director outstanding performers for recognition, and initiates action on situations requiring corrective actions. Monitors and takes necessary action for facilities maintenance, security, equipment, supplies and vehicle safety. Within established agency policy and objectives, assists the Annex Director and the SAFB ODR Programmer in planning and marketing the Annex ODR programs. Ensures that maintenance and preventive maintenance are performed on all recreation equipment. Responsible for basic land water conservation and environmental protections. Works closely with the SAFB marketing department to assist in developing and maintaining a web site that is informative and user friendly. Schedules and publicizes outdoor recreation activities, insuring maximum effectiveness in attracting and motivating participants in providing the widest possible range of activities in terms of community interest and needs. May be required to provide Water Safety, Boating Safety, CPR ,and AED Certification and Training. A nationally recognized Wilderness First Aid Certification is preferred. Qualifying Experience: A minimum one year experience that demonstrates the knowledge and abilities commensurate with the requirements as described in this the position description. Experience may include planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising or executing outdoor recreational programs. Demonstrated supervisory experience is preferred. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: A degree or certification in Outdoor Recreation, General Recreation, Fish and Wildlife Services, Parks and Recreation, or similar course of studies or training may substitute for position experience. Must successfully complete a National Agency Check (NAC). Must pass pre-employment physical. Subject to uncommon tour of duty, shift work, weekends, and holidays. This is a drug testing position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
