About the Position: This is a developmental position. You will be hired at the GS-09 level and upon meeting all regulatory and performance requirements, you will be non-competitively promoted to the intervening GS-10, and then the full performance GS-11.
Duties
Planning, scheduling, estimating, expediting, and coordinating various projects accomplished in ammunition maintenance activities involving the renovation, demilitarization, care and preservation, and destructive operations of ammunition.
Reviewing established ammunition requirements, current maintenance schedules, or other programming documents, classification and stock status reports, typical procedures, and special directives
Preparing and submitting cost estimates, required man-hours, and workload information for justification of the utilization of manpower and funds.
Determining whether ammunition projects are proceeding according to schedule; ascertain causes for delay; provide for corrective action; and make necessary adjustments to the schedule.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Medical evaluation may be required.
- The employee must meet the requirements of AMCR 350-4, Training and Certification Program for personnel working in ammunition operations.
- Must successfully complete training in hazardous waste management procedures within six (6) months after the date of appointment. Incumbent must also participate in an annual review of this training.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in planning and estimating required manpower, skills, equipment and materials to perform ammunition maintenance activities involving the renovation/demilitarization/care and preservation of ammunition and/or explosives. Experience recommending methods to make efficient use of labor in order to meet production schedules. Experience compiling data for analysis and planning purposes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
