About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with the 780th MI BDE responsible for the overall management/accountability of supply, transportation, and logistics support functions and serving as the Assistant Property Book Officer and Assistant Facility Manager.
Duties
Developing and implementing supply programs and procedures including property accountability, acquisition, receiving, maintenance, disposal, and transportation.
Conducting on-site visits to subordinate activities for inspections and equipment surveys including inventory management, storage and distribution, and supply cataloging.
Exercising authority concerning information of organization property, equipment changes in MTOE/TDA, and general supply requirements.
Providing guidance and assistance to hand receipt holders in regards to establishing and maintaining required record, issuing and turning-in nonexpendable/reportable property/equipment and inventory requirements.
Managing the operation, maintenance, repair and minor construction of facilities, utility systems, pavements, grounds, and fire detection systems.
Managing the allocation of space and evaluating requirements based on organization size, type of mission, utilities/services required, and environmental considerations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on a Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency (NSA) facilities and networks.
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 40% or less.
- All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-11).
