This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). In the organization's Operations Division, you will work as a valued member of the communications team which is responsible for OJJDP's communications, public outreach and dissemination activities.
Duties
As a Writer-Editor you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Write briefing materials, speeches, and talking points in a variety of formats for agency leadership, based on agency policy, priorities, programs, and research findings.
- Review material for clarity of expression, accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and responsiveness to agency and audience communications needs.
- Correct problems with grammar and ensure clear and appropriate language, compliance with agency style, and proper presentation.
- Oversee the editing of products associated with agency grant making activities, including solicitations and funding recommendations.
Requirements

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Wrote briefing materials, speeches, and talking points in a variety of formats for agency leadership, based on agency policy, priorities, programs, and research findings.
Reviewed materials to ensure content is properly referenced and data and analyses are supported.
Oversaw the editing of products associated with agency grant making activities, including solicitations and funding recommendations.
Technical Qualifications:
Applicants who meet the basic entry and minimum qualification requirements, as described above, will be further evaluated on the following technical qualifications:
