Duties

Serves as the technical liaison between the contractors and the Contracting Officer. Manages the family advocacy program, ensuring program execution and compliance with regulatory guidance. Inform the community about resources for information and referral data to ensure awareness and of services offered. Develops contacts with key resource persons from social services, Soldier and Family Assistance, Department of Social Work, and emergency shelters. Provides a full range of prevention, community education, direct services, and liaison with other installation services and state and local services. Plans and coordinates a broad community education and awareness programs and primary and secondary prevention programs. Manages the administration and execution of the budgetary aspects of the program. Oversees the operation of a 24-hour crisis line.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Social Worker: Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes knowledge of the Fatality Review Committee (FRC) for cases of Child Abuse and Domestic Violence and of the Incident Determination Committee. Knowledge of Problematic Sexual Behavior in youth and developing community command and troop education and prevention programs. Knowledge of coordinating civilian and military resources; such as assessing the special needs of the community and how to report child and spouse maltreatment. Knowledge of implementing a comprehensive victim advocate program. Knowledge writing FAP contracts at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Interpersonal SkillsProgram ManagementRequirements Analysis and Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
