About the Position: This is a Natural Resources Manager position, GS-0401-12 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Tulsa District, Operations Division, and Northern Area Office in Oologah Lake Office.

Duties

Serves as Natural Resources Manager for a large geographical area, which includes a major reservoir project with complex and complicated natural resource and recreation programs. Responsible for the development and implementation natural resource management and protection programs that include fish and wildlife management, and soil conservation, etc. Responsible for coordination of the plans for the management, operation and maintenance of the natural resources, parks, recreation sites and facilities. Supervises all aspects of the work of the organization. Performs Public Relations through public meetings, personal contacts, specialist events, and/or written correspondence.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Position may require one year supervisory probationary period.

  • Business Travel (TDY) up to 10%.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Performing natural resources management to include range land/forestry/shoreline management or soil conservation/wildlife/fish resources management; and 2) Assisting with the development or implementation of land management plans or operational management plans. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementLeadershipNatural Resource ManagementPlanning and EvaluatingProgram Outreach Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
