Duties

You will provide water quality support on compliance issues, policies, and regulations to promote compliance with drinking water, stormwater and wastewater laws and regulations. You will review and prepare environmental permits and related documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local laws associated with the Clean Water Act. You will review specifications for contracts, construction projects, and post-construction to determine water program permit conditions are not in violation. You will interpret water quality regulations and identify corrective actions based on data analysis to resolve non-compliances. You will oversee the application and maintenance of water permits that support base operations and comply with environmental programs.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Working with others in adherence to environmental programs, policies, guidelines, regulations, and compliance provisions; 2) Conducting site investigations and work practice evaluations to determine compliance with environmental laws and regulations (e.g. water quality requirements); and 3) Preparing technical reports, standard operating procedures and correspondence related to environmental programs (e.g. water quality requirements).
