You will serve as an Administrative Support Specialist in the Navy and Marine Corps Appellate Leave Activity (NAMALA), WASHINGTON DC.
Duties
You will provide and coordinate a wide variety of administrative, technical, personnel, and program related duties regarding the appellate review process, appellate leave, and essential administrative support.
You will prepare, edit, proof-read and coordinate various correspondence such as memorandums, Supplemental Court-Orders (SCMO) and other materials from various commands and activities.
You will review and edit, correspondence received from Staff Judge Advocate and other Navy and Marine Corps commands in appellate leave cases.
You will conduct and coordinate the research, compilation, and interpretation of military personnel records, personnel data, applicable laws, regulations, policies, and legal precedent decisions pertinent to assignments.
You will provide training, assistance, instruction, guidance and direction to staff personnel in the development of correspondence, letters, and other official documents.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following: 1) Experience with reading and interpreting Records of Trial, Military Courts of Criminal Appeals decisions, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces decisions, U.S. Supreme Court decisions, Military Clemency and Parole Board decisions, and Notification of Completion of Appellate Review letters to compose detailed supplemental court-martial orders; 2) Experience reading, interpret and applying regulatory and procedural guidance to cases and assignments in order to make recommendations or decisions on entitlements or qualifications and appropriateness of official documentation; 3) Experience using qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and gathering case summary facts and presenting them in a clear and concise manner orally and in writing; 4) Experience in preparing pre- and post-trial documents associated with preparation and assembly of military service records, records of trial for court-martial, and discharge separations; and 5) Experience with Manage Freedom of Information requests and Congressional inquiries, and answering telephone and email inquiries relating to the status of naval service members on mandatory appellate leave. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related.
