Incumbent will serve as a Shift Supervisor for the Security Guard force assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.
Duties
Operating security forces equipment such as computers, radio and communications devices.
Coordinating activities of a guard force shift, to insure the maintenance of physical security standards.
Conducting initial employee counseling outlining performance standards to include midpoint reviews.
Developing training plans based on approved training courses and/or regulatory requirements such as; the use of weapons, protection against espionage, sabotage.
Performing duties such as: approve and/or disapprove leave requests, and modify duty schedules as dictated by.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Required to pass the Physical Ability Standards outlined in AR 190-56, as a condition of employment.
- Must carry firearms.
- Must pass periodic proficiency examinations and qualify semi-annually with assigned firearms.
- Must obtain and maintain current required certifications in CPR techniques.
- Must know first aid.
- Emergency overtime may be required
- Requires rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- During non-duty hours/days, may be required to report as a member of an emergency response force during actual or simulated accident/incident
- Obtain and maintain a valid driver license.
- Employee must undergo and pass physical agility test annually.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a T3 level background investigation.
- Good eye/hand coordination is required to operate radios and security weapons and equipment.
- Must qualify with assigned weapon.
- Must meet standards for the IRP (Individual Reliability Program).
- Drug testing position.
- This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals.
- Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
- Incumbent may be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Maintaining security measures to monitor and/or provide control of personnel or vehicles. 2. Patrolling designated areas to check for unusual situations or conditions. 3. Conducting physical access control operations to enroll personnel into the system for the vetting and printing of visitor passes and badges.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
