Military membership is NOT required.
This ND National Guard position is for aHR SPEC (INFORMATION SYSTEMS/MILITARY), Position Description Number T5858000 and is part of the ND 119 Force Support Squadron, National Guard.
Duties
As a HR SPEC (Information Systems/Military), the primary purpose is to plan, organize, administer, and troubleshoot the operation and data base integrity of the Military Personnel Data System in support of military human resources management functions.
Serves as the primary point of contact to ensure the effective operation of satellite human resources interface with United States Air Force (USAF) servers and related human resources computers both hardware and software.
Serves as a system account manager.
Provides military personnel advisory services to commanders and staff on all personnel systems programs.
Requirements

- You must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours.
- May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
- The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, and an appropriate valid driver's license is mandatory.
- Designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE
Length of time is not of itself qualifying. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess the experience and/or civilian or military training that has provided a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade of the position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-9 grade level or civilian equivalent experience; 1) Manages, directs, and controls the operation of PDS to include the Military Personnel Data System (MilPDS), Virtual Personnel Center (vPC), Personnel Records Display Application (PRDA) Enterprise Output Manager (EOM) and others, and related systems interfaces; 2) Prepares and provides formal and informal training to personal data systems; and 3) Provides technical guidance regarding the overall scope of the MILPDS and interfacing systems.

Part-time or unpaid experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment.
Education
If using education as a substitute for the specialized experience, you must have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or, 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or, LL.M., if related.
To receive credit for education, you must provide supporting documentation of proof that you meet the education requirements for this position.
