This position is located in the Facilities Department of the Fort Yuma Health Center (FYHC) located in Winterhaven, CA. The primary duties of this poistion are to provide care and maintenance of the grounds at the Fort Yuma Health Center. Incuumbent will also assist higher-grade employees in performing maintenance and repoar on the plumbing, lo volateage electrical, heating ventilation and cooling systems.

Duties

Responsible for maintaining healthy plants and presentable grounds. Daily clean-up of all trash and debris, spring and fall fertilizing and/or weed killer application to all landscape and plant areas around the clinic. Responsible for maintaining healthy trees, plants, and shrubs. Assists higher-grade employees in the performance of preventive maintenance (plumbing, low voltage electrical, heating, ventilation and cooling equipment). Performs general maintenance tasks such as replacing ceiling tiles, hanging pictures, moving furniture and equipment, emptying trash, washing windows, cleaning supply and return grills, unplugging drains with plunger.

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
