Provides administrative and clinical services to the Kyle Health Center, Behavioral Health Clinic. The incumbent will take a leadership role in planning, developing, coordinating and evaluating a comprehensive mental health program. Provide top level clinical expertise to client/patients. Subject to emergency on-call duties as assigned.

Duties
Plans and coordinates behavioral health care services in support of clinic/department goals related to disease prevention and health promotion, specifically those related to behavioral health in Kyle and the surrounding area. This planning includes all phases of services, including preventive, institutional, outreach, rehabilitative, and community-based services, based on long-range and shortrange goals.
Performs individual, marital/couples, family, and group psychotherapies for children, adolescents, and adults with a wide variety of acute and chronic mental health problems including depression, suicide ideation/attempts, bereavement, psychotic episodes, family conflicts, substance abuse or dependence, and trauma resulting from violence or abuses of emotional, physical or sexual nature.
Provides for the overall training, development and supervision of Behavioral Health Department staff. Plans and assigns work to BH staff based on PRSU priorities and capabilities of employees. Evaluates BH staff work performance.
Coordinates service provisions to patients and consults with professional colleagues as needed to promote optimal patient care. Utilizes knowledge of a wide variety of theories used in counseling and psychotherapy. Provides referral, intake, diagnostic, treatment, crisis intervention, and consultation services for mental health patients.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR)
DEGREE: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.-or-
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.-or-
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Selective Placement Factor:
Must possess licensure as a Licensure as a certified Social Worker or equivalent certification to provide independent behavioral health services.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Experience providing administrative supervision for behavioral health staff to ensure compliance with accrediting bodies; responsible for the coordination of a comprehensive mental health program, providing evidenced based treatment to individuals, couples, and families; providing leadership in the development of policies and procedures.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
