You will serve as a Supervisory Air Traffic Control Specialist in the Operations Department, Air Traffic Control Facility of MARINE CORPS AIR STN CAMP PEN.
Duties
You will oversee the development, implementation and management of the Air Traffic Control Student Training Program.
You will establish and maintain a system for evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the student training program.
You will develop and implement the ATC simulator training program.
You will update and implement the facility on-the-job training instructor course.
You will interface with the FAA, General Aviation and other military facilities on air traffic control issues.
You will provide guidance on air traffic control facility airspace utilization.
You will develop or amend instrument approach and departure procedures.
You will act as command advisor to the Facilities Planning Board on the affect to navigable airspace of proposed projects.
You will perform duties as a civilian Air Traffic Controller.
You will supervise civilian personnel within the Air Trafic Control facility, ensuring current requirements are accomplished, developing work schedules, providing counseling and guidance to ATC specialists and evaluating staff performance.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Air traffic control specialists must possess the facility ratings required at the facility where the position is located. You will be required to maintain a valid Air Traffic Control Specialist and/or Control Tower Operator Certificate.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You must pass a yearly standard Air Traffic Control physical examination to ensure you meet published medical requirements as dictated in the NAVAIR-S0T-114
- You may be required to travel as a passenger on tractical aircraft for familiarization of aircraft operating characteristics.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Overseeing the development, implementation and management of an Air Traffic Control training program, interfacing with external facilities on air traffic control issues, providing guidance on airspace utilization (airspace use and procedure review and development) and supervising staff in the performance of air traffic control duties.
