Duties

Office of Training and Developments mission is to train America's frontline through a systemic and systematic approach to ensure that training supports CBP's law enforcement, national security, and economic missions while meeting the needs of a diverse and widely dispersed workforce. This position supports the mission as a senior level supervisor responsible for the management, oversight, and direction of the sites lodging facility, campus services and security, facilities contracts, and comprehensive training operations that provide state of the art training delivery programs for new and continuing training curriculum across CBP and worldwide. This position starts at a salary of $163,964.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $191,900.00 (GS-15, Step 10). Major duties include: Developing and administering program management and workforce management activities that foster the training mission goals while ensuring fair, effective and economical use of funds, contracts, staffing, oversight of data analytics and policy review. Evaluating overall work accomplishment of the combined staff, reviewing projects, reports, group, and individual performance for consistency with policies, compliance with procedures and regulations, utility, technical adequacy, timeliness, and effective utilization of resources. Maintaining effective management-employee relations through communications and recognition of employee performance, hears and resolves grievances and complaints not resolved by subordinate supervisors and recommends awards/bonuses. Coordinating with the Director and/or senior leadership, you are directly responsible for the efficient and timely coordination and execution of advanced in-service training programs for CBP personnel. Assisting senior leadership by planning, evaluating, integrating, and coordinating training initiatives and programs throughout CBP. Directing and orchestrating meetings and conferences to ensure that stated and implied goals are achieved, and appropriate follow-on actions are completed.

Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing technical training programs, projects and initiatives which involve a broad and in-depth analysis and evaluation of training programs. Participating in conferences, working groups, meetings, and presentations involving problems or issues of considerable consequence or importance where superior communication skill and tact must be exercised to obtain desired results. Developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives for short and long-range implementation of technical training programs and resources. Advising or consulting managerial duties over budget, personnel, and programs which involve the staff, subordinate offices, higher authorities, and other agencies. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 09/24/2024.
