This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Product Management Division. As a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM MANAGER (MANAGER OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT DIVISION), you will be responsible for leading Project and Program (Product) managers responsible for all in-production currency as well as new currency development.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM MANAGER (MANAGER OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT DIVISION), you will:
Perform all managerial and supervisory duties within the PMD, which include directing the work to be accomplished by staff; set goals and objectives and priorities; prepare schedules for completion of work.
Assign work and evaluate work performance of subordinates; provide technical advice and assistance to resolve problems; hear and resolve routine subordinates' complaints and grievances; recommend disciplinary actions; identify development and training needs of the staff; identify ways to increase productivity and quality of work; review work products to ensure compatibility with work of the organization; and support Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) programs by taking supervisory and administrative actions to ensure the equal treatment of employees.
Serve as a senior technical advisor on product development to all levels of management throughout the BEP.
Oversee or lead matrix management-type teams composed of personnel from various BEP offices in pursuit of key product improvement or product development activities.
Lead and direct staffs in the execution of the Banknote Development Process (BDP) as well as monitor the BDP for areas of improvement. Instill discipline in the team to develop and manage risks, lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Experience using project management methodologies, practices, tools and techniques to guide strategic projects throughout the project lifecycle. AND
- Experience directing the development of comprehensive test and evaluation plans. AND
- Experience developing relationships and communicating with executives, supervisors, managers, employees, and others.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
