Duties

Performs the full range of tasks in filling positions. Performs functions involved with the DoD Priority Placement Program (PPP) and other special hiring programs. Monitors the Automated Security Clearance Approval Systems (ASCAS). Performs a variety of recruitment and placement support duties. Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc.

  • This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
  • The incumbent must have the ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, GS-0203. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE (Internal/External): Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05 (Internal)/GS-06 (external), or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Applying knowledge of an extensive body of employee relations and recruitment and placement rules, policies, procedures, methods, operations, and principles to perform limited technical work of a non-controversial nature as well as a wide variety of interrelated or nonstandard support work assignments involved in the fill of a variety of lower-graded clerical, administrative, technician, and semi-skilled wage grade positions and apply technical guidance on employee relations programs. 2) Using knowledge of DCPDS to input, store, retrieve data and perform quality review of data elements. 3) Providing knowledge of techniques for applying qualification standards. 4) Using various office automation and word processing software programs, tools, techniques, and functions to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. 5) Planning and organize work and meet deadlines. 6) Researching, analyzing, interpreting, and applying rules, regulations, and procedures. 7) Communicating effectively orally and in writing. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed at least one full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the position such as, Human Resources, which demonstrates my knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of specialized experience and education as described above. Therefore, has a combination of experience and education to meet the qualifications of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS (Internal/External): Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 (internal)/GS-06 (external) level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of an extensive body of recruitment and placement rules, procedures, and operations to perform a wide variety of interrelated or nonstandard support work assignments involved in the fill of a variety of lower-graded clerical, administrative, technician, and semi-skilled wage grade positions. Knowledge of the DCPDS to input, store, retrieve data and perform quality review of data elements. Knowledge of techniques for applying qualification standards. Knowledge of word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual, such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters. Skill in typing; a qualified typist is required. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
