Serves as a Data Scientist (Information Analyst) within the Office of Accident Investigation and Prevention. Functions as a contributing member of FAA's Safety Community of Interest Core Team, researching, analyzing, modeling and interpreting data, and developing data visualizations for aviation safety projects and programs across the Federal Aviation Administration.
Duties
Serves as a Data Scientist, responsible for developing analytical methodologies for collecting and compiling safety data into visual tools or reports. Develops innovative visualizations and safety data models that enhance safety decision-making processes. Applies data modeling expertise and data management strategies to enterprise-wide projects in support of FAA’s Safety Community of Interest, including cross-organizational collaboration regarding the integration of emerging entrants into the NAS.

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I / FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes: Experience planning, designing, and developing the application of data and statistical models, methodologies and visualizations. Experience and subject matter expertise in aviation safety business processes.
