You will serve as a TRANSITION READINESS PROGRAM ASSISTANT in the MARINE AND FAMILY SERVICES DIVISION of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.

Duties

You will respond orally to inquiries about work-life, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), wellness, or other related programs. You will advise customers on transition support services (e.g., career, transition, interviewing skills, resume writing, job applications). You will develop multimedia presentations and facilitate work assignments using a personal computer and software programs. You will Assists with planning, conducting, and facilitating Transition related workshops, seminars, and briefings. You will provide a variety of assistance with computer programs and automated systems.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: knowledge of military lifestyle and the objectives of military family support programs as they relate to Transition, Relocation, and Employment; Knowledge of Marine Corps and Navy occupations, ability to translate to civilian terminology and work environments and obstacles of the lifestyle; private, public, and federal sector hiring procedures Knowledge of Veterans Benefits and Employment Services; understanding of Congressional, DoD, and Marine Corps regulations; Ability to effectively communicate orally at briefings, conferences, training, and workshops; skill in the use various computer software programs to include word processing, spreadsheets and data base, etc. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
