This vacancy is for a Supervisory International Trade Specialist in the International Trade Administration within the Department of Commerce.
Duties
As a Supervisory International Trade Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Leading and supervising an office/offices and multiple project teams consisting of professional personnel to accomplish organizational objectives.
Providing oversight of trade promotion operations and agency metrics in the region, and planning, leading, and coordinating efforts of multiple organizations and participants in the implementation of agency programs.
Overseeing the expansion of the assigned U.S. exporter base through staff; identifying export promotion and economic development partners in the Regional Strategic Plan.
This supervisory position is state-wide and may involve coverage of more than one office in the state.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify at the GS-14 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
leading trade programs, personnel, and managing budget resources;
developing export trade strategies, programs, and positions; and
developing partnerships with government, private, and/or non-profit groups in order to plan and coordinate multi-organizational trade development initiatives.
