You will serve as the Deputy Director, Equal Employment Opportunity Officer (DDEEO) for the NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL (NPS). You will be responsible for developing, managing, and assessing the EEO and diversity programs in support of NPS's local and geographically-dispersed faculty and staff employees.

Duties

You will serve as the Deputy Equal Employment Opportunity Officer (DDEEO) responsible for developing, managing, and assessing the EEO and diversity programs for local and geographically-dispersed faculty and staff employees. You will be the senior EEO advisor to the NPS President, Provost, managers, and employees on all EEO, Reasonable Accommodation, and Special Emphasis Program matters. You will execute EEO and Diversity action plans impacting mission requirements at multi-echelon levels, which may affect the civilian workforce in both civilian personnel and EEO arenas supporting NPS faculty and staff populous. You will prepare program publicity, ensuring all local instructions, policies, notices, and program information are effectively communicated to managers, supervisors and employees. You will review proposed personnel actions involving individuals with disabilities who are in need of reasonable accommodation to ensure all applicable laws, regulations and local negotiated agreement provisions have been satisfied. You will assess difficult, controversial, and complex individual complaints that are appropriate for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program intervention, requiring an in-depth analysis and innovative approaches to develop proposed resolutions. You will manage the federal sector EEO discrimination complaints program, to include counseling, investigation, and adjudication. You will incorporate the principles of EEO into all civilian human capital programs, in preparing the annual MD-715 report to establish policy guidelines and standards for maintaining effective affirmative employment programs.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least ne year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector executing and evaluating a civilian federal equal employment opportunity (EEO) program to include advising on the application of equal employment opportunity (EEO) program requirements and developing strategic initiatives and recommendations for senior leaders..
