About the Position: This is a Temporary position Not To Exceed 1 Year for the U.S. Army Cadet Command, 6th Brigade located at Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi. This position is also being announced under DABR242105731974. Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or detail NTE one year by a current Permanent Army employee.

Duties

Provides staff assistance in all areas of supply and logistics management for the SROTC Program and affiliates within the Task Force structure. Implements and/or executes changes to regulations using DA Form 4610-R, Tables of Distribution and Allowances and Common Tables of Allowance (CTA) affecting ROTC supply. Utilizes multiple Logistics Information Systems (LIS). Accountability Property System of Record (APSR) to execute, account for the requisition Clothing Bag Items, Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment (OCIE). Coordinates all procurement actions for equipment required for cadets to attend Cadet Summer Training, Program's summer camps and Cadet Troop Leader Training.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position may require 6-12 weeks TDY, approximately 30% of the time in support of USACC Cadet Summer Training, or Cadet Command seminars/classes, and other events as directed.
  • A valid state driver's license is required.
  • Special Requirement - May be required to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License with Hazardous Material Endorsement.
  • Incumbency of this position is limited to persons who have not had a conviction of domestic violence under the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. 922).
  • Completion of Unit Armor Course may be required. If selected to perform this duty, the Command will ensure incumbent completes and maintains the Certification Training.
  • A drug screen is required for this position.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • This position requires lifting of at least 50 pounds.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manages and Organizes InformationManages ResourcesTechnical Competence Specialized Experience: Ensures record management files are properly maintained; Follow procedures to inspect supplies or equipment for discrepancies; Operates automated word processing equipment with hardware and software components to prepare a variety of material such as correspondence, forms, reports, etc; Maintains property book in accordance with applicable regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service at the GS-06 level. OR Have successfully completed one full academic year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Supply Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
