This position is located at the El Reno Indian Health Center in El Reno, Oklahoma. The Medical Staff Coordinator coordinates the credentialing process and works professionally and independently to ensure a reliable and organized credentialing process for the Clinton Service Unit medical staff. Incumbent reports to the Clinical Director.

Duties

Initiates verification requests for medical licensure, board certification, medical school graduation, residency, post-graduate training and any other pertinent training. Tracks and maintains logs of medical staff membership, clinical privileges, and licensures/certifications to ensure that they do not expire. Attends Medical Staff Executive Committee Meetings and services as a technical advisor on credentialing and privileging. Serves as an advisor to the Clinical Director on matters in which the Medical Staff credentialing process can be carried out in the most effective, efficient manner. Works with the computerized credentialing software systems for overall medical staff credentialing. Coordinates the overall program/process for all visiting medical students, physician assistant students, nurse practitioner students, volunteers and resident rotations in accordance to policies.

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include using computerized credentialing software to manage provider applications within a healthcare facility; using software applications such as word processing and databases and internet database applications for data entry, file maintenance and data retrieval; evaluating medical staff files to determine appropriate response to incoming requests for verification of hospital affiliation and clinical privileges from other healthcare facilities and state licensing agencies. OR Completion of 1 full year of graduate (18 semester hours) level education that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Completion of a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A) in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the positions. OR Completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) full years (36 semester hours) of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
