You will serve as a PURCHASING AGENT in the NAVAL CONTRUCTION TRAINING CENTER of NAVAL CONSTRUCTION TRAINING CTR.
Duties
You will analyze and edit requisitions to adhere to acquisition policy.
You will compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best quotes among potential suppliers.
You will conduct market research (e.g. check commercial catalogs, contact files, listings of firms offering particular goods, or similar research) to stay abreast of available goods and service.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Purchasing. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of purchasing regulations, policies, procedures and business practices to purchase commercial and specialized requirements in support mission; 2) Administering the Purchase Card Program functions for an organization; 3) Maintaining records for accountability of procured supplies, equipment and services and; 4) Preparing and submitting purchase orders.
