You will serve as an ACCOUNTANT in the ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT of NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND.
Duties
You will review and analyze asset-related financial reporting processes, documentation, and data in Navy Enterprise Resource Planning System (Navy ERP).
You will develop policy and provide guidance to NAVAIR stakeholders regarding both property management and financial reporting of NAVAIR-owned assets and related document retention requirements and business processes.
You will perform analysis of financial statement information in Navy ERP to validate financial postings, respond to queries, conduct general ledger and asset module reconciliations, and research discrepancies.
You will support accounting month-end and year-end close activities in Navy ERP.
Requirements

- This is a Financial Management Level 02 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Performing independent research and analysis of financial transactions in Navy Enterprise Resource Planning System; 2) Validating financial postings, responding to queries, and conducting general ledger reconciliations; 3) Analyzing accounting transactions and asset data calls to ensure accuracy and integrity of budgetary and proprietary data in monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports; and 4) Preparing/presenting financial reports and documentation for signature/certification.
