We protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure and open environment.

Duties

This position is located in the Howard C. Liebengood Center for Wellness, United States Capitol Police (USCP). Develops, implements, and manages the Volunteer Chaplaincy Program, including applications, directives, policies, procedures, confidentiality agreements, and best practices. Ensures all policies, laws, and regulations about the Volunteer Chaplaincy Program are established and adhered to. Remains current on best practices and trends in spiritual care and crisis intervention. Ensures all budgetary, training, and additional program requirements are accomplished. Prepares fiscal year Chaplain report to United States Capitol Police stakeholders. Develops internal operating procedures and maintains and updates an incident and activity tracking system. Submits statistical reports on program activities, as required, to the Liebengood Center for Wellness Director.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.For the CP-11 level you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CP-10/GS-12 level that is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as experience: 1) provides and obtains information and provides pastoral care and comfort, 2) addresses such matters as assessment, cause of death, or identification, 3) coordinates the handling of all religious ministry.Master's degree in divinity along with a minimum of 3 units of clinical pastoral education is desirable. All eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the vacancy announcement.(Information on Qualification & Education is located at the following link: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/)
