THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0802000 and is part of the NC ANG, National Guard (145 MXS / Position No. 0107166634).
Duties
As an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, WS-8268-09, you will plan and schedule specific work assignments on a daily or project-by project basis within specified time requirements; arrange for adequate personnel, materials and equipment to accomplish the work; assign tasks to be performed; explain prescribed methods and procedures; instruct subordinates on new procedures and provides assistance on problems; review work in progress and on completion; obtain approval from supervisor for changes in standard or prescribed procedures and changes in work operations; suggest ways or methods to improve operations or reduce costs; recommend individuals to fill vacancies or for promotion or reassignment; assist in the establishment of performance standards and makes recommendations for performance appraisals; counsel with employees on disciplinary issues and recommends disciplinary action; attempt to resolve informal complaints and grievances, referring unresolved or more serious issues to supervisor; conduct on-the-job training and recommends employees for formal training programs; schedule leave and approves leave for short periods of time; encourage employees to participate in suggestion or cost reduction programs; ensure that regulations governing safety and housekeeping are observed; explain and implement such personnel programs as equal opportunity, position management, position description review, and labor relations; maintain production reports and records; perform the nonsupervisory functions of the organizational segment supervised; implement safety regulatory requirements; ensure that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions; prepare for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises; may be required to perform additional duties such as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operator, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies; perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Qualifications
MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted (TSgt/E6 promotable to MSgt/E7) MSgt/E7
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience or training which demonstrates your knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft pneudraulic systems; and ability to use technical manuals, equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in performing the work.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (Must have36 months) of experience or training which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles. Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies. Experience in repairing, rebuilding and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications.
