About the position: This position will be assigned to the Edwards AFB Flight Training Center/Aero Club. Provides customers with general information regarding the Aero Club program, explaining Club membership and options to customers.
Duties
This position serves as the principal office assistant performing various clerical and administrative duties in support of the Edwards AFB Flight Training Center/Aero Club.
Provides customers with general information regarding the Aero Club program, explaining Club membership and options to customers.
Performs administrative duties by using office automation software such as word processors to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print forms, memos, letters, and reports; uses existing database or spreadsheet software to create, enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for reports; and uses graphics software to provide graphs and charts for reports and presentations.
Prepares a variety of recurring and nonrecurring non-technical correspondence and reports.
Consolidates and finalizes information for various reports in accordance with established reporting procedures.
Gathers and summarizes information from files and documents for use in responding to inquiries.
Proofreads/edits correspondence and documents for correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and format.
Prepares applicable documents for members to clear authority to allow airplane usage, with or without instructor.
Maintains records and files of source documents on aircraft usage, flight logs, and flight hours.
Arranges sightseeing flight tours and incentive flight tours.
Coordinates the use of aircrew training devices (A TD).
Ensures forms documenting aircraft/training device utilization accurately reflect mission accomplishment, simulator time, and maintenance discrepancies.
Updates the flight schedule with changes and accurately maintains the flight/ATD utilization plan.
Compiles, tallies, and prepares data for use in reporting flight times.
Prepares finalized aircrew/mission flight data documents for entry into data system and storage as official records.
Establishes and maintains accountability records for equipment IA W Air Force and installation guidelines.
Verifies and reconciles data in the automated system.
Accomplishes financial reports.
Maintains members' files to include flights and training hours.
Maintains contact with Club members through phone calls or e-mail to disseminate information.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
This position is a drug testing designated position.
The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in administrative or clerical work which demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties of the position successfully.
Experience must demonstrate the ability to: effectively organize the flow of administrative/clerical processes in an office; Maintains a filing system; locate and assemble information for various reports, briefings, and conferences; and compose non-technical correspondence.
Responsible experience must have provided the knowledge, skill, and ability needed to operate computer peripherals in support of office operations to produce a variety of documents, such as memorandums, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
Must have ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy.
Must satisfactorily complete an installation, TSA and a National Agency Check. Must posses a valid drivers license and be able to obtain a government drivers license.
Performance is measured on the basis of results achieved, i.e., in terms of accuracy, timelines, compliance with instructions, and overall results achieved.
Documents are prepared accurately and in accordance with regulations and policies and in the appropriate format.
Routinely follows up on suspense items to ensure timely completion and carries out oral and written instructions in an acceptable manner.
Communicates effectively both orally and in writing and performs duties in a courteous and cooperative manner.
Consistently displays professionalism, expertise, courtesy, and decorum during contacts and duty performance.
With few exceptions: produces accurate reports on established suspense dates to keep staff informed of requirements; accurately codes and verifies information entered in the automated system with minimal errors; and prepares and submits required documents timely.
Maintains calendar efficiently and promptly informs supervisor of any changes or conflicts.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
