About the Position: Serves as Financial Technician performing analysis and evaluation of financial, budget, accounting, and payroll data pertaining to a diverse fund environment.

Duties
Perform a variety work involving of financial programs where there are frequent changes in practice, procedures, reporting and operational requirements.
Conduct standard account maintenance and accounting support that employs a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures to examine
Initiate collections not related to pay and leave, maintain retirement records, or process health benefit forms.
Performs technician work in support of senior budget analysis and administration personnel such as to maintain ledgers, budget formulation, and compile, consolidate, verify, and arrange funding data.
Examine related documents for accuracy, adequacy, and satisfaction pertaining to compliance with regulations for goods and services provided to or by the government, or the default in fulfilling contractual obligations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 1 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
- This position may require rotating shifts (i.e. work schedule that requires employees to continuously rotate from one shift to another at predetermined intervals).
- This position has a TDY or business travel requirement of 10% of the time to various CONUS and OCONUS locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/ or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting account maintenance, responding to personnel inquiries, and working on financial programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Financial Technology or Business Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
