About the Position: This position is with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, Regional Rivers Repair Fleet, where you will machine surfaces at unusual or compound angles and independently interpret and translate work orders, engineering drawings and specifications often lacking dimension tolerances, and types of fits and finishes.

Duties

Receive work assignments in the form of work orders or oral instructions accompanied by blueprints, sketches, drawings, models of parts, or other work specifications. Interpret and apply sets and series of interrelated prints and drawings, to prepare supplementary sketches, and to calculate missing dimensions and tolerances. Independently determine the work procedures, machine tools and attachments to be used, and the sequence of machining operations to accomplish each job. Determine uncommon materials, dimensions, and tolerances. Apply advanced shop mathematics, including geometric and trigonometric formulas, in laying out work and setting up machine tools. Use any of the accepted trade methods and techniques and all conventional machine tools.

• Must possess and maintain a valid State motor vehicle operator's license.
• Required to complete a pre-appointment and annual Physical.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain all Corps of Engineers licenses associated with this position, such as Dump Truck, Truck and Trailer, Crane, Forklift, and Construction Equipment.
