About the Position: This position is located at the Resource Management Office, Joint Base Myer - Henderson Hall, Virginia.
Duties
Develops the framework, prepares instructions, and establishes procedures which budget estimates are to be made.
Analyzes budget input, purchase requisitions, and travel submissions from operating segments, insures adequacy and consistency with DoD Financial Management Regulations,
Prepares monthly and quarterly Resource Management reports.
Plans and provides narrative explanation of the causes of variances between actual and budget objective.
Monitors program activities and consolidates to identify specific costs, program accomplishment.
Reviews incoming financial authorization documents for consistency with approved budgetary guidance.
Coordinates with Budget and Program staff and ensures active communication during the entire budget process.
Renders advice to supervisor and program managers concerning the operating budget.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires you to possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Financial Management Level 2 certification within 24 months of employment.

Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes financial systems experience, reporting, and familiar with DOD financial management regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
