You will serve as a CRANE OPERATOR in the Lifting and Handling Department (Code 200), Crane and Rigging Operations Division (Code 220), Crane Team Shop (02A) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will follow established practices to provide continuously reliable and safe operation of cranes.
You will operate cranes daily for moving loads to specified locations.
You will execute precise lifting and handling in areas with restricted access and maneuverability.
You will operate traveling cranes equipped with booms.
You will operate boom cranes at outdoor locations where maneuverability is restricted and accuracy is critical.
You will practice safe crane work operations to make work area safe.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.

Experience making proper gear selection, conduct prior to use inspections, and attach weight-handling gear to support the movements of items by crane or other mobile material handling equipment; Experience safely performing the lift process and maintaining communications with Rigger in Charge or designated Rigger throughout the lift operation with the ability to refuse to operate when there are concerns about the safety of operation; Experience operating portal and bridge cranes supporting lifting operations for long periods of time. Experience with various standing and running rigging to move, remove, and position large and heavy items in confined submarine, shops and other areas; Experience planning, laying out, assembling, repairing, testing and installing complex weight handling gear and standing and running rigging to manufacture, test and certify rigging gear for use. Experience working in close proximity of other cranes in confined work areas.
WG - 07
Experience supporting rigging operations, assisting the crane operator in performing the pre-use check of crane, safe rigging of the load, provide hand or radio communications of crane operators for the safe and effective movement of items to and from submarines, shops and other areas to include positioning of items in exacting locations onboard submarines.
